In his book How to Experience Revival, Charles G. Finney has this to say in regards to Hosea 10:12: “Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”
A revival consists of two parts: that which concerns the Church and that which concerns the unsaved. Here I will speak about a revival in the Church. Fallow ground is ground which has once been tilled but which now lies waste. It needs to be broken up and mellowed before it is again ready to receive grain.” He goes on to say, “The fact is, Christians are more to blame for not being revived than sinners are for not being converted.” Again, “A revival can be expected when Christians have the spirit of prayer for revival. That is, when they pray as if their hearts were set on it.”
This coincides the “spirit of urgency” discussed at our recent Pastor’s Advance. May God help us to be diligent and serious about seeking Him.
